Oh my goodness, I’m playing a realistic rally racing game and I love it. DiRT from developer Codemasters is a joy to play, the graphics are incredible (there are certain desert tracks that let you see for miles,) the point of view incredibly visceral and the handling feels natural in a way that I’ve never experienced in a game (like I said, I’m not too well versed in the Forza’s and Gran Turismo’s of the world.)
Since this is my first realistic racer, so I’m taking things slowly on the easiest difficulty, but if I can find it for cheap (this copy is from Gamefly) I could really see myself digging into the title’s intricacies and knocking the challenge up to the Pro level for a truly hardcore challenge.
Until then I’ll be gawking at the title’s HD graphics and trying not to be run off of the tracks by that French dude in the Toyota Tundra.
